Kinfolk Enterprise started over 10 years ago at the now closed 'Kinfolk Café' on Melbourne's Bourke Street.  We started the business to cultivate a culture of inclusion and capacity-building for our volunteers and employees. The idea was simple, run a café that provided training and community for marginalised Victorians facing barriers to employment, and distribute the profits to Australian charities.

Since 2010, Kinfolk has grown bigger and more diverse than we could've imagined. Our volunteer program (which recently surpassed 1,000 volunteers) now lives at our Carlton North café Sibling, with up 30 volunteers engaged every week.

In the city, at 673 Bourke's historic Donkey Wheel House (above our old café) we run a thriving events and catering business - 'Events by Kinfolk' - which provides ethical event space hire for meetings, conferences and weddings, with in-house catering to boot! For bookings or to arrange catering deliver you can reach us on 03 9620 7799 or via email at events@kinfolk.org.au

We also have an online shop delivering groceries & gifts to homes all over Melbourne, but we're not just serving our customer community. Our van is also packed full with food relief as we restock empty pantries and fridges of women & kids moving on from family violence & deliver community meals Victorians in hardship.

By supporting any of our ventures you are supporting our mission, but if you'd like to give our fight against food insecurity a nudge in the right direction, you can make a tax deductible donation here!

Since mid-2020 we've restocked 900+ kitchens and donated more than 18, 000 meals.
